Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS

Surveyor Location Reports (SLR)

What is the difference between a SLR and a Boundary Survey?

A Survey Location Report (SLR) is a limited accuracy report used solely for title companies compared to a Boundary Survey that uses Surveying Equipment and Technology to get an exact location.

Can a SLR be used to locate trees?

No, a Boundary or Staked Survey would need to be performed to locate the exact location of any trees or landscaping.

Can we use a SLR to Install a fence?

No. A Surveyor Location Report (SLR) is a limited accuracy report that can have an error of multiple feet at times. An accurate Boundary Survey is highly recommended before erecting a fence, insuring you do note encroach into an easement or a neighboring property.

Boundary/Retracement Survey

How are my property corners marked?

We place 5/8" rebar at every corner of the property with a red cap showing that we set it. We also place temporary flagging and lath at each pin to show clients visually where their corners are.

Can you place a extra points on my property line?

We can place as many points on line the client requests, however, extra points on line come with a fee per point.

Why is a Boundary/Retracement Survey more expensive than a SLR?

Boundary/Retracement Surveys are more expensive due to their nature. We use Surveying equipment that gives you exact locations compared to cloth tape that is used for SLRs. Time is also a major factor in our quotes for a Boundary/Retracement Survey.
